The short version: Use Bramicafor your own personal study-abroad research. Don't upload fake documents, don't share accounts, don't scrape, and don't resell our data. Almost everyone is fine.
1. Who this policy applies to
This Acceptable Use Policy applies to every user of the Bramica app and website. It is part of, and incorporated by reference into, our Terms of Service.
2. Permitted use
You may use Bramica to:
- Research your own eligibility, study options, and post-study paths in the countries we cover.
- Upload your own genuine academic documents to speed up data entry.
- Search for university programs that match your profile and interests.
- Refer the app to other students or family members, who must create their own accounts.
3. Prohibited conduct
You may not:
3.1 Misrepresent yourself or your documents
- Upload forged, edited, or fabricated academic records. Documents must be genuine and yours.
- Impersonate another person, claim to be a school official, or use a false identity.
- Edit values that the app reads from your documents and then re-submit them as if extracted, in a way that misrepresents the original.
3.2 Abuse the platform
- Create multiple accounts (including disposable-email accounts) to circumvent free-tier limits.
- Share a paid package across friends or a paid account with multiple people; packages are personal and tied to one account.
- Use automation, bots, or scripts to make API calls or generate searches.
- Probe, scan, or attempt to compromise the security of our infrastructure. Responsible-disclosure security reports are welcome at admin@icyarcanine.com — we will not pursue legal action against good-faith security researchers who follow standard responsible-disclosure principles.
- Attempt to bypass paywalls, rate limits, or access controls.
3.3 Misuse the data we provide
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute country comparison data, program lists, or eligibility results.
- Scrape the app or website to build a competing product or database.
- Use the data in a way that violates the published terms of the original source we cite (for example, our country recognition data is sourced from Germany's public Anabin database, which has its own usage terms).
3.4 Misuse OCR and AI features
- Upload non-academic documents (passport copies, financial statements, ID cards) to the document-upload flow. We only process academic records there.
- Upload images containing other people's data without their consent.
- Send prompt-injection payloads to the program-search or OCR flow.
3.5 Harm others or break the law
- Harass, threaten, or defame anyone through the app or through any communication you send us.
- Use Bramica to facilitate immigration fraud, visa fraud, or any other unlawful activity.
- Violate any applicable law of India or of the country whose programs you are researching.
4. Enforcement
We may take any action we consider appropriate, at our sole discretion and without prior notice, in response to suspected or actual breach of this policy, including any one or more of the following:
- warning you and requiring that you stop the conduct;
- suspending specific features (e.g. document upload);
- temporarily or permanently suspending your account;
- terminating your account;
- adding a one-way hash of your account identifier to our internal abuse-prevention blocklist to prevent immediate re-registration;
- removing content from the Service;
- reporting the conduct and disclosing relevant information to law-enforcement authorities, regulators, or affected third parties as we consider necessary, and in all cases where required by applicable law (including, without limitation, suspected document fraud, visa fraud, or attempts to compromise our infrastructure).
No refund on enforcement-related termination. We will not, under any circumstances, refund any portion of a counsellor subscription or student purchase when an account is suspended or terminated for breach of this policy, except as your payment rail or applicable law requires. See our Refund Policy.
No waiver. Our failure to act in response to a particular breach does not waive our right to act on that breach later or on any other breach. The list of measures above is illustrative, not exhaustive; we may apply other remedies available to us under contract or at law, cumulatively or in the alternative.
5. Reporting abuse
If you see another user behaving in a way that violates this policy, or if you believe your own account has been compromised, contact us at admin@icyarcanine.com. We take reports seriously and respond within 7 working days.
6. Updates
We may update this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time. Material updates will be flagged in-app and the “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change.
